Message from the Head of School

School of Science at Monash University offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the area of applied microbiology, biotechnology, food science and technology, genomics and bioinformatics, medical bioscience, medicinal chemistry, and tropical environmental biology.

We focus on providing students with relevant scientific knowledge and essential skills such as communication skills, critical thinking, analytical thinking, teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills which are valuable to employers. Students’ learning is enhanced with laboratory and research-led teaching, exciting field trips and internship program which are important to provide a holistic learning experience and to foster graduate who can adapt to the challenging work environment.

Our staff are also actively engaged in research areas of crop science, cell biology, biomedical sciences, chemistry, food science and technology, genomics, microbiology and ecology. We built strong local, international and industry collaborations to ensure current research development will benefit the community and we embed the latest trend in our undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
