Learning and Teaching Research Grant 2018 winners

Congratulations to our researchers who are successful in their application for the Monash University Malaysia learning and teaching research grants 2018.

These grants aim to support and promote education innovation research with a strong emphasis on educational research outcomes. Only successful applicants, who were selected on a competitive basis, will receive a funding of up to RM 20,000.00.

Among the 11 successful grant applications, 4 of which belonged to the School of Science:

  • Dr. Zoe Yek Sze Huei with colleague Dr. Wong Zhi Hoong from School of Arts and Social Sciences for “developing in situ biodiversity projects in existing TEB units and a new fully field-based unit in Human Ecology and biodiversity”.
  • Dr. Foo Su Chern for “enhancing student experiential learning using students in tropical aquatic biology (BIO 3810) unit as a case study”.
  • Dr. Holly Barclay and colleague Mr. Lee Jin Min for their project in “encouraging active learning and cross-campus collaboration to enhance environmental teaching at Monash University Malaysia.
  • Dr. Thoo Yin Yin and colleagues A/Prof. Uma Devi Palanisamy and Dr. Amreeta Dhanoa from the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences for “transforming the teaching of human nutrition from didactic lecture to case based learning”.

We anticipate the successful outcomes of these projects.
