Caleb Cheah advances to Monash-level 3MT competition

25 June 2020

We are very proud that our PhD student Mr Caleb Cheah competed with other schools on campus and won the 3MT online competition on 25 June.

In his research which is entitled "EPS: An Attractive Solution to Metal Pollution", the focus is on solving the metal pollution in water which often causes metal poisoning in humans. In the course of this project, he extracts and uses the biomolecules known as “exopolymeric substances” or EPS from bacteria to clean up pollution by removing the metal in water.

Caleb is supervised by Associate Professor Adeline Ting and will be representing Monash University Malaysia at the final round at Monash University Australia in August.

Congratulations Caleb and we wish you all the very best at the final challenge!
