All students being offered scholarships will receive a scholarship offer containing the details of the scholarship. You are to follow the instructions on how to accept or reject the scholarship stated in your scholarship offer. If you do not complete the acceptance as instructed, your scholarship offer may be withdrawn and/or revoked.
The total value of your scholarship is outlined in your scholarship offer. For scholarships paid per credit points, the total scholarship value is based on the minimum number of credit points required to complete the degree you are enrolled in at the time you receive your first scholarship payment.
For example: Scholarship value RM5,000 for a full-time study load (24 credit points) paid per semester until the minimum points of your degree are completed, subject to meeting all conditions in maintaining the scholarship. Degree period – 144 credit points (equivalent to 3 years of full time study)
You must accept your scholarship offer by the due date, as instructed in your scholarship offer, to be eligible to receive payment. You may be required to submit bank account documents for some scholarships.
Scholarships are awarded based on established eligibility criteria. You must meet the eligibility requirements to receive your scholarship payment. The eligibility requirements for each scholarship are outlined on your respective scholarship offer.
You will be reassessed for eligibility prior to each payment. If Monash University Malaysia determines that you do not meet the scholarship conditions at any point in time of your scholarship term, your scholarship may be suspended pending further investigation or withdrawn.
You are required to be enrolled for the following semester to be eligible for the next payment of your scholarship, subject to meeting all relevant maintenance conditions, as stated in your scholarship offer. Your scholarship may be terminated if your enrolment status is inactive at census date.
Deferring your scholarship
Deferment of course offer constitute the deferment of your scholarship, subject to the types of scholarships being offered and the valid reasons for the deferment. You are not allowed to defer your scholarship offer without the deferment of course offer.
Taking intermission or leave of absence from your degree
If you intermit your course, your scholarship will be withheld or withdrawn. You need to submit your reasons for your intermission along with supporting documents for the Scholarship and Study Loan office to assess your situation in order to determine if your scholarship should resume upon your return from intermission.
Transferring your scholarship to another degree
If you transfer to a new course, you may also be eligible to transfer your scholarship. You are required to seek advice from the Scholarship and Study Loan office before you do so.
Discontinuing your course
If you discontinue your course, your scholarship will be terminated and you are required to refund 50% of the amount awarded to you.

failed to meet the eligibility criteria and conditions of your scholarship
failed to maintain satisfactory academic progress
been suspended or excluded for misconduct under Monash statues and regulations; or
been made an incorrect scholarship offer as determined by Monash in its sole discretion.
Consequences of termination
If your scholarship is terminated, you will not receive any further payments. The award will not be re-instated and in certain circumstances, you will be required to repay 50% of your scholarship.
Repayment of your scholarship
You are required to repay your scholarship if:
the payment is made to you in error or you have been overpaid
you are no longer enrolled in the semester the scholarship is paid
you do not meet the conditions of the scholarship or are ineligible for the scholarship (including situations where you have provided false information under 5.4); or
you have been made a scholarship offer in error.
Providing false information
The awarding of your scholarship is based on the information that you provide to Monash University Malaysia. You scholarship may be withdrawn at any stage if you provide incorrect, false or misleading information or withhold relevant information. This includes circumstances where the false information is unrelated to the assessment in awarding the scholarship.
