Revised Scholarship Conditions of Award for Semester 1, 2020 due to Covid-19

The University is committed to adapting our teaching and learning, and student experiences in response to Covid-19. We recognise the significant disruption to our students caused by COVID-19, and that adjustment to studying online can take some time.

To support you in achieving the best possible results for your units, we recently announced changes to our grading for Semester 1, 2020.

A revision to the Conditions of Award of your Scholarship have been made to align with these changes.

Study Load
To continue to receive the award throughout the duration of studies, the recipient must enrol in a minimum of 24 credit points for the following semester.
 
Recipients must maintain a minimum study load of 18 credit points in Semester 1, 2020 which must be recorded on the student transcript.
 
Extension of the course duration cannot be more than one semester due to this underloading.
Maintenance Score
To continue to receive the award throughout the duration of studies, the recipient must maintain an average of 75% (in 24 credit points of study) and not fail any units in any semester.
 
Recipients must maintain a minimum Pass grade or Satisfied Faculty Requirement (SFR) for each enrolled unit recorded on the student transcript.
 
Recipients have to continue to maintain the maintenance score stipulated in your Scholarship offer letter regardless of the study load for Semester 2, 2020.
Intermission
Recipients may not be entitled to “Intermission” (or Leave of Absence) during the duration of the Scholarship, unless it is due to extenuating circumstances
 
Recipients can intermit in Semester 1, 2020.
 
Extension of the course duration cannot be more than one semester if going on intermission.
Sibling Discount
All siblings must be enrolled concurrently in at least a standard (full) study load of 24 credit points in the semester in a full-fee paying course.
 
Except for the Maintenance Score condition above, the revised Study Load and Intermission conditions of award are applicable to all sibling discount recipients. The condition that all siblings must still be concurrently enrolled remains.
 
Sibling discount entitlements will cease to apply once siblings are not concurrently enrolled.

The following will apply with the revision of the above conditions:

  • Tuition fee amount for tuition fee waivers (less than 100%), bursaries and sibling discounts are calculated based on the number of enrolled units. (eg if enrolled in 18 credit points/3 units, a RM3750 bursary will be granted for an awarded RM5,000 bursary)
  • Stipend recipients will need to be enrolled to continue receiving the stipend.
