About your Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded based on established eligibility criteria.  You must meet the eligibility requirements to receive your scholarship payment.  The eligibility requirements for each scholarship are outlined on your respective scholarship offer.

You will be reassessed for eligibility prior to each payment.  If Monash University Malaysia determines that you do not meet the scholarship conditions at any point in time of your scholarship term, your scholarship may be suspended pending further investigation or withdrawn.

1. Enrolment requirement

   You are required to be enrolled for the following semester to be eligible for the next payment of your scholarship, subject to meeting all relevant maintenance conditions, as stated in your scholarship offer.   Your scholarship may be terminated if your enrolment status is inactive at census date.

2. Deferring your scholarship

   Deferment of course offer constitute the deferment of your scholarship, subject to the types of scholarships being offered and the valid reasons for the deferment.  You are not allowed to defer your scholarship offer without the deferment of course offer.

3. Taking intermission or leave of absence from your degree

   If you intermit your course, your scholarship will be withheld or withdrawn. You need to submit your reasons for your intermission along with supporting documents for the Scholarship and Study Loan office to assess your situation in order to determine if your scholarship should resume upon your return from intermission.

4. Transferring your scholarship to another degree

   If you transfer to a new course, you may also be eligible to transfer your scholarship.  You are required to seek advice from the Scholarship and Study Loan office before you do so.

5. Discontinuing your course
   
   If you discontinue your course, your scholarship will be terminated and you are required to refund 50% of the amount awarded to you.
