Special Consideration for applications related to COVID-19 (NEW)

  • Students may be eligible for special consideration if evidence of acute illness, loss or bereavement, or hardship/trauma is provided. These are existing eligibility criteria and can include COVID-19 related incidents.
  • Evidence supporting the applications for special considerations will remain as outlined in the Special Consideration Procedure.
  • Inability to attend campus due to not being vaccinated against COVID-19 won’t be accepted as a reason for special consideration. Non-vaccinated individuals may enter the campus subject to procedures outlined by the government. Please refer to MUM COVID-19 (see COVID-19 Safe Plan > Come to campus well)
  • Students who have tested positive for COVID-19 are eligible to apply for special consideration under the acute illness criteria. Given the nature of COVID-19 where medical assistance may vary from not required to hospital admission, a medical certificate or letter from a medical professional may not always be available. In this instance, a copy (screenshot) of MySejahtera stating the student’s details and COVID-19 positive status of the student is sufficient evidence to be considered for special consideration.
  • Students who are identified as close contact and required to self-isolate as notified by   MySejahtera are not eligible for special consideration unless physical presence is required to complete the assessment (i.e. there is no online alternative).
