When to use Allocate+
After enrolling in the Web Enrolment System (WES), you can create your personal timetable of unit activities in Allocate+:
- Enter your preferred class times in Allocate+ during preference entry.
Once it closes, Allocate+ will sort through all preferences. - Make changes to your timetable during allocation adjustment if you didn't get all the class times you wanted.
- View your final timetable once allocation adjustment closes and Allocate+ is in read-only mode.
Allocate+ opening times
To use Allocate+, the system needs to be open (for preference entry or allocation adjustment). For opening times, see Allocate+ dates.
Before you start classes for your teaching period, you’ll need to enter the preferred times for all your classes (lectures, tutorials, labs, etc) – this is called preference entry. To learn how to enter your preferences, see entering your preferences.
During preference entry, you can use the Student Timetable Planner to draft multiple timetables –- including units that you’re not enrolled in. This allows you to see what’s available if you’re planning to change units
During allocation adjustment, you can:
- make changes (if free time slots are available)
- change your allocation if your faculty adds new activities based on popular demand.
Your timetable adjustments are done on a first-come, first-served basis, so once allocation adjustment opens, you should log into Allocate+ as soon as possible. To learn how to adjust your preferences, see adjusting your timetable.
Once the allocation adjustment period ends, your timetable is final and you can view your timetable and room allocations (no further changes can be made).
Special cases
Some activities in Allocate+ won’t follow these preference and adjustment steps. Units with special cases will display notes.
For example, some faculties and schools:
- don’t allow preferences and open straight into the adjustment stage (e.g. Graduate Monash Business School)
- create a timetable for you. E.g. Medicine, Physiotherapy, Radiography and Pharmacy.
- If you’re studying pharmacy, your on-campus or online study options will automatically be determined by your current study location. If you’re studying pharmaceutical sciences, you will have the option of either on-campus or online workshops.
