Exchange Partners

In our continuous effort to promote student mobility and expand our global reach, we have forged two additional partnerships for Monash Malaysia students.

You can now exchange to the University of Auckland in New Zealand and the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. A brief of each university is available below.

University of Auckland

Spend a semester at the University of Auckland, Monash University’s latest partner and learn what it is like to live in the “land of the long white cloud” as the Maori describes it to be. With a population of only four million people in New Zealand, it is gloriously uncrowded, and features varied geographical landscapes – from cascading glaciers, to active volcanoes, placid lakes and vast mountain ranges; making it a truly scenic study abroad destination.

About the University of Auckland

Home to 40,000 students, the University of Auckland is not only New Zealand's largest university, but New Zealand's highest ranked university within the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and the QS World University Rankings. The university has the most comprehensive range of courses in the country with teaching and research conducted over eight faculties and two large – scale research institutes. The campus is made up of more than 4,000 international students from 93 countries, offering you a truly global experience.

University of Groningen

As the economic and cultural capital of the region, Groningen enjoys a bustling reputation, while retaining the character of a safe community. What will probably strike you most when entering Groningen is its youthful population. Roughly one in six of the city’s 20,000 inhabitants are students. Students can be seen everywhere: studying in the park, riding a bike or enjoying the nightlife with other fellow students.

With more than 30,000 students over 10 faculties, it is one of the largest universities in the Netherlands. The university aims to stimulate a broad education. While you are there, you are strongly encouraged to be actively involved outside lectures through sports, culture or in committees.
