OHSE Inductions Program
OHSE induction programs and resources help our community stay safe and healthy while working or studying.
If you’re starting at Monash as a staff member, student or contractor, there are some things you’ll need to know before arriving at one of our locations. Check the tabs below to see what you need to do.
All new staff (including honours and graduate students) need to complete our mandatory online and local area inductions.
Step 1: Complete the online induction
Log into MyDevelopment using your Monash account. In your Learning catalogue, click HSW Staff Induction, then select the Request button, then Launch to start.
Just make sure you’re on a desktop or iPad (the module isn’t mobile-friendly).
Access your module here
Once you’ve completed the module, it’ll be added to your training record (you’ll also receive an email to confirm this).

Step 2: Complete your local area induction
Next, you’ll need to complete your local area induction. This covers safety information specific to your building and work area.
Your Safety Officer (or their delegate) will deliver this induction.
If you’ve been contracted to work at a Monash University Malaysia location, You are required to complete the Online Contractor Safety Induction three (3) days prior to the commencement of your work.
