Why did you choose to study at Monash, and has it met your expectations so far?
Monash is well known for its prestige standards and that applies specifically to Computer Science, the field of study I was targeting specifically. Like all institutions, Monash has it’s attractive packages such as the exchange program which I have undertaken and would gladly recommend it to other students.
What do you love most about your student life at Monash?
Unfortunately, I did not really partake in as many events as I would like to embrace the student life. However, what I can say from my experiences is that I am always slightly blown away by the wide range of diversity we have here and the friendly community we have here. (makes me forget that I hate people sometimes)
What opportunities did you participate in while at Monash? E.g. conferences, study trips, volunteer programs, student exchange, etc. Can you tell us about your experience?
The student exchange program! If you think Monash Malaysia is suffocating enough by the number of people here, wait until you visit the Clayton campus itself. This may sound cliché but there are no words that could describe the experience, it can be overwhelming though so it’s a better time than any to help you get out of your shell and experience things you never thought you would! (Also, Australia is pretty cool itself)
Did you have any industry exposure/placements while studying at Monash? If so, do you think it has made a difference for you in terms of career preparation?
No, I interned for a month in MAHSA University (non-affiliated with Monash) for my mom. For all students whose internship is not mandatory, go get the exposure you need!
What are your career goals, or what impact would you like to have in the future?
I know I would look back at this one day and cringe but my honest answer is to make the world a better place, no matter how little of an impact it may be. Career oriented wise, I must say to be the CEO of a company that aims towards this goal.
