Attending classes was enriching, especially learning about happiness economics and sustainable development from experts like the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands. Even challenging courses like monetary economics were fascinating, thanks to my knowledgeable professors. Traveling to seven other European countries added to the adventure, from experiencing my first snowfall in England to the lively Oktoberfest in Germany. I made friends from various countries, and managing daily routines while balancing studies abroad enhanced my adaptability and independence. The University of Warwick's location made it easy to explore thanks to excellent public transport and student discounts. Exploring the much larger campus was both fun and eye-opening, as I immersed myself in a vibrant academic and social environment. Navigating a foreign city, both on my own and with friends, was exhilarating and provided a sense of independence and growth. Being in a country that attracts many celebrities added an exciting new dimension to my experience. Overall, the exchange program broadened my horizons, enriched my understanding of different cultures, and created a ton of core memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

From watching the seasons change on the vibrant streets of Helsinki to the picturesque landscapes of Lapland, every passing moment was an adventure filled with many new experiences and meaningful connections. Through engaging in conversations with local Finnish students, and participating in traditional events unique to the Finnish student community, I not only gained new perspectives but also cultivated lifelong friendships with people across the globe.

Richelle Yong , Bachelor of Computer Science, School of Information Technology | International Exchange Program to University of Wisconsin Madison, USA | I still vividly remember the first day I stepped foot onto campus ground, friendly faces welcomed me with open arms. Whether it was a brief encounter in the elevator or a simple act of holding the door, conversations blossomed effortlessly. It was a stark contrast to what I was accustomed to in Malaysia, yet I found myself embracing this newfound warmth. Thanks to my peers who were always eager to engage with lecturers, it gave me the courage to voice my opinions. It changed the way I approached my problems academically and made me realise not to shy away from communicating. Beyond the classroom, I had the opportunity to work, exposing me to people from diverse backgrounds. This experience deepened my appreciation for different cultures and enhanced my interpersonal skills. I truly enjoyed my time there and would do it all again in a heartbeat. Even if you gave me 10 pages to write, nothing can capture the beautiful memories I gained thanks to this exchange program.

Within 4 months, I got to embrace a whole new culture and became accustomed to the mannerisms and the way of living as a local in South Korea, which as a 20-year-old living independently for the first time, is a huge accomplishment.
