The course comprises advanced research methodology coursework in the first semester and a year-long research project, for a total of 48 credit points. You may select from a range of quantitative or qualitative research streams that match your interest to the respective projects.
Part A. Coursework (12 credit points)
In the coursework unit, you will develop advanced theoretical and/or technical knowledge in research methodologies and your chosen focus area within the health sciences.
Part B. Research (36 credit points)
In the research unit, you will plan and execute a year-long research project within the health sciences discipline, under the close guidance of an academic supervisor.

To enter Monash University, you must satisfy particular academic, English language and age requirements.
You must have successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree in any health science or related disciplines (or equivalent) with an average overall distinction grade (70%) or higher in the final year of the course.
Relevant disciplines include medical, nursing, allied health, other health related degree e.g. chiropractic, psychology, public health, environmental health, paramedic, imaging (radiology, nuclear medicine), biomedical engineering, dietetics / nutrition, pharmacy, social work, medical science / biomedical science / immunology, health science, laboratory science, science, and health economics.
Note: Applicants with a bachelor degree completed more than five years ago need to provide evidence that they have kept their knowledge and skills in the field current through work, clinical practice, professional development, registration with a professional body and/or other activities.
