1. Tell us about this scholarship.

I am on the Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship, which grants me a full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. As a recipient of this scholarship, I am required to contribute some hours of academic support to the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) units.

2. Why did you apply for this scholarship?

I was keen on furthering my studies for a PhD. However, I could not justify the cost of the tuition. Furthermore, spending another three years studying on no income made me wary of my financial situation and whether I would have to get a part-time job to support myself. The scholarship offered a pathway free of these problems.

3. How did you choose your planned program of study?

My supervisors were incredibly helpful and guided me most of the way. I also liaised with the Graduate Research Office, which gave me great advice on planning my study program.

4. What do you hope to gain from the Monash experience?

I am looking forward to using the great facilities provided by Monash. Furthermore, I am looking to leverage Monash's status as a global research university to connect with others and build my research and social network.

5. How has the scholarship assisted you?

The scholarship has allowed me to focus entirely on my studies without worrying about most financial burdens. The stipend allows me to support myself financially, so I do not have to burden my family with it.
