1. Tell us about this fee waiver.

I am grateful to be awarded the Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship which provides a full tuition waiver and a reasonable monthly stipend. The application process was straightforward and hassle-free.

2. Why did you apply for this fee waiver?

This fee waiver provides the perfect opportunity to obtain my dream of getting a doctoral degree without having financial worries. Thus, I can focus on my studies and my research. The commitment of a maximum of 10 hours per week in academic support and research support activities has also enabled me to gain teaching experience at Monash. It is a beneficial contribution toward building my career as an academic.

3. How did you choose your planned program of study?

I fell in love with marketing during my undergraduate studies. It is also the field of study of my master’s degree, so I had no hesitation to continue studying it for my PhD. There are so many potential research topics that interest me, although my current research has shifted from my original proposal, I am very excited to undergo this journey.

4. What do you hope to gain from the Monash experience?

I have been interested in studying at Monash University Malaysia since I finished my master’s degree. It is a great combination of gaining international exposure and quality of education at one of the world’s best universities and staying close to home (Indonesia).

5. How has the fee waiver assisted you?

The fee waiver has enabled me to pursue my doctoral degree. With a fee waiver, I could start the PhD program.
