Studying in English

Undergraduate admission:

You can meet the English language requirements if you have undertaken studies at an institution where English is the language of instruction, communication and assessment for all aspect of study for the whole of the educational institution by satisfactorily completing a minimum of 24 Monash credit points (one semester of full-time study) * of an approved post-secondary qualification or above (AQF Level 5 or above) which must be taken within three years prior to the course commencement date or have fully completed one of the following qualifications:

  • an Australian VET diploma level (or equivalent) which must be taken within three years prior to the Monash course commencement date; OR
  • an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) which must be completed and taken within five years prior to the Monash course commencement date.

Documentary evidence in the form of an official letter is required from the institution at which the study was undertaken. This document must be written and signed by the institution’s Registrar (or other authorised person) of the education institution to the satisfaction of the Academic Board.

Postgraduate admission:

You have studied at an institution where English is the language of instruction, communication and assessment for all aspect of study for the whole of the educational institution by completing the following qualifications:

  • satisfactorily completing a minimum of 24 Monash credit points (one semester of full-time study) * of an approved post-secondary qualification or above (AQF Level 5 or above) which must be taken within three years prior to the course commencement date; OR
  • an Australian bachelor’s degree or equivalent (AQF Level 7), which must be fully completed and taken within five years prior to the Monash course commencement date; OR
  • an Australian master’s degree or equivalent (AQF Level 9), which must be fully completed and taken within five years prior to the Monash course commencement date.

Documentary evidence in the form of an official letter is required from the institution at which the study was undertaken. This document must be written and signed by the institution’s registrar (or other authorised person) of the education institution to the satisfaction of the Academic Board.

*Language of Instruction based on minimum 24 Monash credit points of an incomplete post-secondary qualification is not eligible to international students due to MQA/Student Visa requirements.

Note: All Students MUST satisfy both the English requirements set by Monash University and Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) respectively.
