[SERIES 1] MonashRISE: ECAN RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM
The MonashRISE: ECAN Colloquium 2026, initiated by Monash University Malaysia, is designed as a strategic developmental platform to strengthen Early Career Academics’ (ECAs) capacity and confidence in navigating their research journeys. The event will connect ECAs across disciplines, foster collaboration with senior researchers and external partners, and create pathways for research impact aligned with institutional priorities.
The MonashRISE: ECAN Colloquium 2026 brings together academics from Monash University Malaysia, Sunway University and Taylor’s University to foster meaningful research collaboration and support the development of early-stage research ideas into funded initiatives.
Participants from Series 1 will have the opportunity to continue into Series 2, which focuses on proposal development and grant readiness. The colloquium also introduces seed funding to support promising collaborative projects, strengthen cross-institutional research engagement, and encourage future external funding applications.
COLLOQUIUM RESEARCH THEMES & CLUSTERS
[SERIES 2] MonashRISE: ECAN RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM
The ECAN Research Colloquium 2026 Series 2 is designed to support Early Career Academics and Researchers in transforming collaborative research ideas into competitive and funder-ready proposals for external grant submission.
This session focuses on strengthening participants’ capacity in proposal development, external grant alignment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strategic research planning. Through proposal clinics, expert mentoring, and structured pitching sessions, participants will refine their research ideas, identify suitable external funding opportunities, and strengthen the overall competitiveness of their proposals.
Series 2 also provides a platform for researchers across Monash University Malaysia, Sunway University, and Taylor’s University to foster cross-institutional collaboration, receive expert feedback on proposal direction and feasibility, and develop interdisciplinary research proposals with the aim of future submission to external funding bodies.
