Age requirements
To study in a course at Monash University, you must be at least 17 years old when you enrol.
Exceptions
There are some exceptions, for example if you:
- will be at least 16 years old at the time of enrolment and have achieved a rank in a qualification Monash deems equivalent to an Australian Year 12 ATAR of at least 95 in the Victorian Certificate of Education, or
- will be at least 16 years old at the time of enrolment and have not received a rank in another qualification Monash deems equivalent to an Australian Year 12 ATAR of at least 95 in the Victorian Certificate of Education BUT have the approval of the Head of School or Dean of the faculty, or
- are not yet 16 years old BUT have achieved a rank in another qualification Monash deems equivalent to an ATAR of at least 95 in the Victorian Certificate of Education AND have the approval of the Head of School or Dean of the faculty.
Deferred places
If you do not meet the age requirement but would otherwise have been offered a place, you will be offered a deferred place. You may take up the offer of a deferred place when you meet the age requirement. Some exceptions apply.
