Travel Grants
Funding your trip could be easier than you think
For Outbound Students
Travel grants are made available to all approved Monash Malaysia students (including international students) going on a Monash Abroad approved program – international exchange program to partner universities or faculty/school overseas program.
The travel grants will be paid into your nominated bank account once you have completed the following requirements :
- Nomination of a Malaysian bank account that was opened in your name (foreign bank accounts shall not be accepted) prior to your departure for your overseas program
- Enrolment in the unit/s associated with your overseas program
- Completion of the Monash Abroad Pre-Departure Training Module. You must complete all activities contained in the module before you can key in your application reference number. You must submit the correct 36-digit application reference number or your form submissions will not be connected across your application.
- Completion of the Post-Selection Form
- Completion of the Travel Approval Request Form
- Confirmation of 'Approved for Travel' by Monash Abroad
- Correct and complete bank details and documents provided
Please note:
- Selection and approval are based on merits. If you exchange to the same host university for two consecutive semesters, you will receive one travel grant for your entire time abroad.
- Monash Abroad WILL NOT process your travel grant payment retrospectively after your program's end date. If you provide your bank account details or fulfil the requirements listed above after you have returned from your overseas program, you will not receive the travel grant.
- Failure to complete these requirements before your overseas experience, may result in you not being issued with any applicable payments, grants or scholarships.
- Payments shall only be paid to a Malaysian bank account that you have opened in your own name (payments shall not be made to a third party bank account or an overseas bank account)
All students are covered by the complimentary University travel insurance scheme.
