Why did you choose to pursue your postgraduate studies at Monash Malaysia?
Monash Malaysia has a special place in my heart and feels like a second home to me. Having completed my Undergraduate Program here, I was already familiar with the high standards of education, a supportive community, and access to resources – both in terms of education and lifestyle.
Monash Malaysia also had the suitable course I was looking for. After working for 3.5 years, I wanted to find a course that blended IT and Business seamlessly and provided a better understanding of how IT is used in businesses.
Overall, the continuity and deep connections I’ve developed with the faculty, peers, and the country made returning to Monash Malaysia an easy decision.
Please tell us about your study experience at Monash. Did it meet your expectations and did what you learn help to open up more career opportunities?
My study experience at Monash was very rigorous, as it was rewarding. I had honestly not expected the post-graduate program workload to feel so demanding. It not only met my expectations, but often exceeded them through the quality of teaching and the practical, real-world application of theories. Although changes were constantly made to the course to reflect demands in the industry, some units can reflect it further through improvements. I believe the knowledge and skills I acquired will significantly broaden my career prospects and help me reach new heights.
What type of opportunities did you participate in at Monash? (E.g. student exchange, clubs and societies, field trips, conferences, competitions, etc.)
Clubs and societies is one of the highlights of the Monash experience. However, with class timings clashing with club activities, I used this opportunity to attend and actively participate in several lectures, workshops, and field trips during my time at Monash.
What did you enjoy most about your student life at Monash?
The biggest highlight of my student life was making new friends. In the post-graduate program, we meet people from various education streams and backgrounds, making conversation fun and interesting. With a smaller number of students, a stronger bond is created, and a level of understanding and dependency is required to get through the workload. Monash has a campus with vibrant ideas and culture, which makes every day learning dynamic and interactive! The friendships and professional relationships I formed during my time here are invaluable and will continue to enrich my personal and professional life.
What is your biggest career goal, or what is the difference you’d like to make?
My biggest career goal is to become a leader in my field, driving innovation and fostering sustainable practices within and outside my industry. Beyond the professional scope, I am deeply committed to promoting sustainability in my community. I aim to contribute to projects and initiatives that enhance environmental awareness and encourage sustainable living practices among community members. I wish to you my expertise in Engineering, IT and Business to make an impact on people’s lives, and make this world a better place to live in.
