Why did you choose to study at Monash, and has it met your expectations so far?

I choose Monash because of its world class education reputation, diverse student congregation and different approach to education than what I’m used to.

Near the end of my program in Monash, I have experienced something beautiful more than what I expected when I start the journey nearly two (2) years ago. I have gained enduring friendship across the diversity, I experienced brilliant and engaging educators and looking through things from different perspective credited to my time here in Monash.

Can you tell us briefly about your current research?

Our group are developing a web application to demonstrate crimes data analytics through visualizations and its relations to other factors such as weather, populations, hour of the day, time and etc.

Did you have any industry exposure/placements while studying at Monash? If so, do you think it has made a difference for you in terms of career preparation?

None. I am currently on study leave from Public Service Department.

What do you love most about your student life at Monash?

  1. Friendship created on the journey of completion of MBIS.
  2. Its culture, on how students does not feel intimidated and ask any questions they saw fit and how the lecturers facilitates it while engaging in discussion.

What are your career goals, or what impact would you like to have in the future?

In the near future of public service, information technology will play important role in the public service delivery more than what it is today. Changes and disruption of public service is inevitable for our nation to become more competitive with other nations and responsive to its citizen. I would love to be involved and participate in bringing change to public service in whatever capacity I am allowed.
