I chose to pursue MBIS as IT is the trend nowadays. The world today uses more IT applications or software than 20 decades ago. IT is the future and I had prepared myself to embrace the upcoming changes.

Please tell us briefly about your current research.

My research title is a vision-based approach to detect plate waste. Basically, I will be developing a system that is capable of detecting plate waste (amount of food left on the plate after eating) automatically. Measures of plate waste allows healthcare practitioner to evaluate the current food provided to the patient and assists hospital in menu changes, monitor the amount of food intake by the patient, and to determine the nutritional status of patient.  Currently, plate waste detecting is done manually in hospital and it consumed a lot of time. Thus, vision-based approach to detect plate waste aimed to assist healthcare practitioner to measure or determine plate waste in hospital effectively.

Yes. Lecturer and administrative staff (librarian and faculty staff) in Monash is very helpful and dedicated, lecture notes and tutorials are of high quality and students in Monash are caring and friendly.

What do you like best about your student life at Monash?

The thing that I like about my student life at Monash is the time I spent on assignments. Assignments given are challenging and required critical thinking. Aside from that, the assignments given mimic real-world scenario. Although much time was spent on assignments, the lessons that I managed to bring home is much more valuable.

What are your career goals, or your future plans?

I am not very sure about my career goals, but I am sure that I want to venture in IT industry.
