Why did you decide to major in Computer Science?

The reason I chose Computer Science as my major is because of future career prospects, the world of information technology is ever expanding, and I believe it will always be relevant. Especially in this age of technology, the opportunities in the future are endless. There are new discoveries in the IT world every day and I would be very excited to be part of those breakthroughs.

What was it about Monash that made you decide to pursue your studies here?

I first stumbled upon Monash when I was in Form 5 at an education fair and I felt a strong urge to apply there since Monash is listed as top 100 universities in the QS World University Rankings. Furthermore, since Monash is an Australian university with many international individuals, I felt that it could enrich my student life.

While at Monash, what type of opportunities did you participate in?

I try my best to grab any opportunities that could benefit my future self as well as spice up my student experience in Monash. I have volunteered in various types of events, participate events prepared by MUSA, join a club, and attend workshops/talks by the university itself. There are so many opportunities around here that it’s hard to miss!

Did you have any industry exposure/placements while you were at Monash? How has it made a difference for you? Did it consolidate what you have learned from your undergraduate course?

Unfortunately, I did not undergo any industry exposure/placements while in Monash.

What do you love most about your student life at Monash?

That’s tough to answer! I feel that my journey as a Monashian has been constantly revolved around activities/events and friends. I love how there is always events to look forward to in Monash and it’s the time where we catch up with old friends and make new connections. It’s definitely a stress-reliever and not to forget about the free food at events, yum!

What are your career goals?

A career in IT industry being very broad and strong in demand, there are many careers that can intersect what I have learned and my passion. In my future career, I hope to be able to use the knowledge that I have learned whilst undertaking my major, and implementing it in the creative industry.
