Why did you choose to study Computer Science?

I was fascinated by the rising field of Artificial Intelligence 3 years ago. I wanted to study and know more about how the computation and statistics lead to a wonderful Artificial Intelligence. The curiosity drives me to study Computer Science.

What do you like most about studying at Monash? Have your expectations been met?

Studying Computer Science in Monash allows me to learn from the fundamental algorithms and data structures to advanced topics such as image processing and deep learning. With the knowledge, I had a very good experience as an intern applying what I have learnt. Still, I expected more and a higher level of education from Monash.

While at Monash, what type of opportunities did you participate in? (E.g. student exchange, clubs and societies, field trips, conferences, competitions, etc.)

I participated in some clubs such as Monash University Motorsport (MUM) and Monash University Investment Group (MUIG).

Have you went for any internships or work placements? If so, where, and what did you learn from the experience?

I had my internship in MIMOS Berhad which is Malaysia’s national applied research and development centre. During the internship, I worked as a research and development assistant in a project, Indoor Positioning System. Besides learning about different wireless signals such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Ultra-Wide Band (UWB), I had also researched and studied a lot about indoor positioning using machine learning with guidance from a great supervisor.

What do you like most about your student life at Monash?
