Has studying at Monash met your expectations so far?
Yes, many of the subjects I have taken have increased my knowledge and interest in this field o study. Additionally, I felt that the subjects offered do build me as a student more comprehensively in both technical and soft skills. My fellow peers and lecturers have all been very friendly and helpful to me in my time here.
What opportunities did you participate in while at Monash? E.g. conferences, study trips, volunteer programs, student exchange, etc.
I participated in the Buddy Program during one of the semester to help the new students in our school with getting to know more about the university and answer any questions they may have regarding the the university in general or our degree.
Did you have any industry exposure/placements while studying at Monash? If so, do you think it has made a difference for you in terms of career preparation?
I have participated in the Industry Based Learning (IBL) which was offered by my school and was allocated to work for our very own Monash Information Technology Services Department (ITS). We were tasked to handle a few projects which included revamping the student association websites as well as creating a new event bulletin board system just to name a few. As I was involved in the entire process of the projects as well as given the opportunity to help the department with other extra jobs around campus. I was able to learn from a lot of experienced professionals and was able to experience different fields of IT related jobs during my entire placement, which enabled me to narrow down what I wanted to pursue in after my studies.
