MyDispense

MyDispense is an award-winning, web-based simulation platform that trains pharmacy students to dispense medications safely and accurately. It replicates real-world dispensing systems, allowing students to practise tasks such as checking electronic references, selecting medications, managing secure drug storage, and generating labels.

A new Hospital EHR (Electronic Health Record) exercise introduces students to realistic hospital scenarios using simulated medical records, pathology reports, and medication charts, developing clinical decision-making skills in managing complex cases.

Used in tutorials and self-directed learning, MyDispense provides instant feedback after each task, promoting reflection and reinforcing best practice. With over 220 institutions worldwide and multiple accolades, including the 2022 AFR Higher Education Award for Teaching and Learning Excellence, MyDispense exemplifies the value of technology-enhanced learning in pharmacy education.

Students apply these skills, including accurate dispensing, safe medication handling, and critical evaluation of prescriptions, in real clinical settings during their Year 3 and 4 professional experience placements in the BPharm(Hons) program.
