2020 Mollie Holman Award for Best Doctoral Thesis

The Mollie Holman Award has been bestowed upon him in recognition of his outstanding doctoral thesis entitled: 'Pharmacist-Led-Self-Care Education And Its Impact On Clinical Outcomes Of Patients With Type 2 Diabetes In Pakistan.

The Mollie Holman Medal was established in 1998 and is named after the late pioneering physiologist Emeritus Professor Mollie Homan AO, in honour of her significant contributions to science and education. Through this award, the University seeks to acknowledge and reward its doctoral candidates for both the quality of their thesis and the quality of their research.  The awards are among the highest academic honours the University bestows, and mark the recipient as the researchers of the highest order.

This year, the calibre of nominations for the award was particularly high. Dr Allah Bukhsh has been awarded the 2020 Mollie Holman Award for Best Doctoral Thesis completed in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. During PhD. candidature Dr Bukhsh has won the People’s Choice Award and First Runner-up Award in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition held at Monash University Malaysia in 2019 and had represented Monash Malaysia campus in 3MT Wild Card round in Australia.

Dr Bukhsh has served as President of Monash University Postgraduate Association (MUPA) for a one-year term in 2018. In his capacity as President, he represented MUPA in the Campus-level committees and was instrumental in implementing and executing initiatives to improve student welfare and experience on campus.
