Aathira Sujathan Nair Wins 2024 Monash 3MT People’s Choice Award

Aathira Sujathan Nair wins the MGA People’s Choice Award at the 2024 Monash 3MT competition with her research on using fluorescence probes for early breast cancer detection.

Aathira Sujathan Nair, a PhD candidate from the School of Pharmacy, has made her mark in the prestigious 2024 Monash University Three Minute Thesis and Visualise Your Thesis competition held on 27 August 2024. Competing alongside eleven finalists from various faculties and campuses, Aathira captivated an international audience with her innovative research and compelling presentation.

Her project, titled ‘Glowing Tags: Spotting Breast Cancer Cells’, focuses on the use of fluorescence probes as an early diagnostic tool for breast cancer detection. Despite the intense competition, Aathira’s authenticity and passion shone through, earning her the MGA People’s Choice Award 2024—a truly remarkable and admirable achievement for the School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia.
