Bench to Bedside: Future Proofing Healthcare with Research and Technology

On 27 and 28 September 2022, the School of Pharmacy organised a two-day virtual conference, named Monash International Health Science and Technology Conference (Monash INITIATE). This year, Monash INITIATE 2022 was staged under the theme of “Bench to Bedside: Future Proofing Healthcare with Research and Technology”. The main objective of this conference was to provide a platform bringing academicians, researchers, students, healthcare workers and representatives from industry together in order to share and discuss their current scientific works in the field of drug discovery and synthesis, drug delivery, life sciences, public health, clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice, stem cell and tissue engineering, digital health and big data and food science.
We were honoured to have Professor William Gerwick, Assistant Professor Yuan Lu, Professor Christopher Porter, Associate Professor Pauline Lai Siew Mei, Professor Hanry Yu, Professor Cheong Sok Ching, Professor Nick Wareham and Professor Julie Lovegrove in this conference. The organizing committee could not thank them enough for their presence and their remarkable presentations. Besides that, we were also grateful to have ACS Monash University Malaysia International Student Chapter and ACS Malaysia Chapter as partners as well as Haleon (formerly known as GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare), Duopharma Biotech, MC Lab Supplies, Interscience, Alpha Gas Solution, Gaia Science and Biotek Abadi as our sponsors contributing to the growth of our scientific community. Monash INITIATE 2022 focuses on encouraging scientists to share their knowledge by bringing together eighty participants from across the globe such as India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Philippines, and many other countries. Through their inspirational presentations, we believe they have managed to introduce new ideas and possibilities which transcends the current limitations in various parts of the research community. Lastly, we are deeply appreciative to all the organising committee and all the wonderful volunteers.
