Asia-Pacific Hackathon: MyHeart Air Takes the Lead

"AI to revolutionise CVD health management in Southeast Asia"

Dr. Song Cheen, a postdoctoral research fellow from our future microbiome centre, was part of the MyHeart Air team, one of only three winners at the Asia-Pacific Global Health Innovation Hackathon 2025 in Singapore. Out of 16 teams from 13 Asia-Pacific markets, MyHeart Air developed an AI-powered API that integrates real-time air pollution data to predict cardiovascular risks and hospital admissions. The team received a SGD 25,000 grant and a six-month incubation program to further develop the platform. This achievement highlights Dr. Song’s role in advancing healthcare solutions for climate change-related health risks in Southeast Asia.
