Tech Talk 1.0: Automate, Innovate & Elevate with Google Workspace

On 14 March 2025, Google Developer Group (GDG) Monash University Malaysia proudly kicked off its first tech talk of the year, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of 92 participants (32 on campus and 60 online via Zoom). Titled "Google Workspace with Automation: Effortless Scheduling & AI-Powered Insights with App Script," the session aimed to help students discover smarter, more efficient ways to work and collaborate.

The event featured Ivan Teddy, an experienced Google Developer Expert, who guided attendees through the full potential of Google Workspace tools (covering Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Gmail) and shared practical strategies to boost productivity in academic and professional settings. A major highlight was Ivan’s engaging demonstration of Google App Script, showing how automation can transform repetitive tasks into streamlined, enabling smarter workflows and effortless scheduling.

Throughout the interactive session, participants not only gained hands-on experience but also learned how to translate these skills into real-world scenarios, effectively bridging the gap between classroom theory and practical application.
