As a student at our Malaysian campus, it is a Malaysian Ministry of Education requirement for you to successfully enroll in and pass the General Studies units. Starting in 2022, the Ministry of Education has introduced the new compulsory General Studies subjects to supersede the current compulsory General Studies subjects as a requirement to graduate in Malaysia. Before you graduate, please make sure that you have completed the following General Studies units:
International Students
- MPU3143 Communicative Malay 2
- MPU3193 Philosophy and Current Issues
- MPU3312 Integrity and Anti-Corruption
- MPU3412 Sustainability in Practice (additional new unit for 2025 intake onwards)
Domestic Students
- MPU3183 Appreciation of Ethics and Civilizations
- MPU3193 Philosophy and Current Issues
- MPU3312 Integrity and Anti-Corruption
- *MPU3212 National Language A (this unit is only applicable for students whom did not obtain a Credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu paper/not an SPM holder)
- MPU3412 Sustainability in Practice (additional new unit for 2025 intake onwards)
Here at Monash University Malaysia, we imagine this to mean exciting engagement opportunities for you to complete some of these units by attending events, going on field-trips, and participating in other immersive experiences both on and off campus. In short, we want you to get out there, explore, have fun, make happy memories, and complete your General Studies requirements at the same time. Sounds exciting? We certainly hope so!

Although you can complete these units at any stage of your enrollment, we advise you to get them done within your first three semesters here.
