By week 4, you'll have a good understanding of your study load and the academic expectations of your school. This is also the time that your unit selection is finalised.
If you're still thinking of dropping a unit, here are the steps you need to take:
- First, have a talk with your Education Management Office. This is for you to make sure you don't drop units which are prerequisites for other units that you plan to take later.
- If you’re a local (Malaysian) student, you may log into WES to 'discontinue' the unit.
- Do the above by the census date (31 August 2026) to avoid paying fees for the unit.
If you are an international student, your student pass (visa) condition requires you to study with a full time study load (ie 24 credit points per semester which is usually 4 units). We suggest that you talk to your School Education Office and International Student Pass (ISP) office before making any changes to your enrolment.
