About Life Capsule
Life Capsule Project
2020 was a year of unprecedented change.
The implementation of the various movement control orders and all it entailed to keep our communities safe has forced us to re-evaluate the way we do many things: how we perform our jobs, live our lives, and more importantly, engage with one another. Although we have all been in this together in some ways, our personal experiences from the past 12 months still represent unique and meaningful chapters of our individual stories.
So, as we embrace the new year and all the hope that it brings, we would like to also invite you to reflect on how far you have come as an individual, and how we can reconnect as a community through art and memory. Therefore, it is our extreme pleasure to invite you to commemorate your narratives and preserve them for posterity as part of the Monash University Malaysia Life Capsule project.
Over the next few months, we will be posting broad calls for participants from all walks of life to submit a piece of personal visual art, literary work, or digital recording that represents or tells part of their story. The submissions shared with us will be curated into a virtual exhibition and eventually displayed as part of a local time capsule project.
This initiative is a collaborative effort by the Monash Staff Club and the Malaysia Immersion Hub.
