Adv-EM Researchers Receive Industrial Funding from PETRONAS for Carbon Dioxide Reduction Research

CNZT congratulates Prof. Chai and his research team under the Adv-EM theme of CNZT for securing funding for energy research from PETRONAS. Prof. Chai's research project was one of the seven projects funded by PETRONAS to Monash University Malaysia through the highly competitive 2024 PETRONAS-Academia Collaboration Dialogue (PACD). Prof. Chai's research under this fund focuses on the development of an electro-catalyst for CO₂ reduction from flaring or post-combustion.

This strategic partnership underscores a shared commitment to advancing innovative research in the energy sector, focusing on sustainable solutions that address the pressing global energy challenges of today and the future.

The awards were presented by Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Higher Education, YB Datuk Ts Mustapha Sakmud, alongside Malaysia Petroleum Management Senior Vice President, Datuk Ir. Bacho Pilong.
