Theme 1 - Advanced Energy Materials (Adv-EM)
Theme 1 on Adv-EM aims to advance the frontiers of hydrogen science and green energy systems; and to be a global leader and powerhouse in innovating clean energy solutions for a decarbonised future. Our focus in Adv-EM is on developing green energy technologies to mitigate climate change, and explore novel methods to help deliver sustainable energy solutions on a global scale. Adv-EM is dedicated to addressing existing constraints in scaling various technologies that can transform green energy carriers (eg: hydrogen) into a global commodity and position Malaysia as a game changer in the green energy economy.
The research scope in this theme is based on the well-established research track record of the members, which include but are not limited to:
- Materials design and engineering
- Theoretical and computational modelling of materials and energy systems
- Green hydrogen production
- Hydrogen carrier systems
- Hydrogen infrastructure and asset management
- System integration evaluation, design and scale-up studies
