A review of next-generation perovskite-metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) by CNZT-affiliated authors was recently featured in a special collection of Journal of Materials Chemistry A by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Titled “Next-generation pervoskite-metal-organic frameworks (MOF) hybrids in photoelectrochemical water splitting: a path to green hydrogen solutions”, this review delves into the fundamentals of perovskites, a highly-touted photoactive material, and their synergistic integration with MOFs, which is a class of uniquely porous crystals. The authors, led by Dr Quan Yee Tey, a CNZT-affiliated student, and Prof Meng Nan Chong as the corresponding author, then critically analysed the recent advancements of this hybrid in solar-driven green hydrogen production.
The review article was published in the Journal of Materials Chemistry A in 2025 and was later featured in the journal’s 2026 Lunar New Year Collection, which is a collection of 30 of the journal’s most popular articles by corresponding authors based in countries celebrating Lunar New Year.
