Net-zero technologies and innovation are brought to the fore as the Centre for Net-Zero Technology (CNZT) made a strong debut showing in the recent International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM 2025) in KL Convention Centre.

Over three inspiring days (15–17 October 2025), the Centre for Net-Zero Technology (CNZT), Monash University Malaysia, brought to life its latest net-zero innovations—products of collaborative research across science and engineering disciplines. Some of the exhibits on display include a static hydrogen-powered genset and jet engine (Dr. Ooi Jong Boon’s team), upstream microalgae R&D: isolation, purification & omics characterisation (Dr. Foo Su Chern’s team), as well as a working model of an hybrid solar PV–hydrogen–ammonia platform coupled with microalgae carbon fixation for circular carbon utilisation (Dr. Tan Wen Shan’s team).

The exhibits received strong interest from various international delegates and visitors to IGEM 2025. Apart from the physical exhibits on display, many also took particular interest in some of the education and training courses promoted in exhibition, including Monash’s new Master of Applied Engineering as well as CNZT’s upcoming HRD Corp courses. All these made for a productive engagement session for CNZT’s researchers and students.

We do like to thank the organisers of IGEM 2025 (Ministry of Natural Resources & Environmental Sustainability, Malaysia; Malaysia Green Tech & Climate Change Corporation) for giving us the opportunity to debut and showcase our net-zero technologies. Do stay tuned for our future engagements in IGEM 2026 and other upcoming exhibitions.
