In this era of cutting-edge biomedical research, there is an emerging role of biologics across therapeutic areas which provides more targeted and personalised treatment for patients to improve patient outcomes. But, how much do we know about biologics and what’s our role in managing these diseases? Hence, this year’s theme ‘In the Era of Biologics: Emerging Roles Across Therapeutic Areas’ highlights the application of biologics in popular therapeutic areas such as dyslipidemia, respiratory disease, chronic skin disease, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis and oncology.

This event featured lectures from professional and experienced clinical pharmacists as well as doctors in their respective fields namely, Ms Nirmala Jagan, Mr. Zulsairi bin Mohd Pauzi, Ms Wee Ai Sim, Dr Nik Razima binti Wan Ibrahim, Mr Ang Yu Joe and Dr Kenny Dang Chee Chean. Interactive panel discussions, patient case discussion and, question and answer sessions received great participation from the engaging audience who were eager to acquire the latest clinical updates from these experts. The event has also facilitated networking opportunities for pharmacists from both the public and private sector in addition to fostering collaboration opportunities, knowledge and experience-sharing that could benefit all.

Boasting a 90% attendance rate, the physical event was a great success with overwhelming positive feedback for the speakers and the lectures. Participants raved about the quality and relevance of the content to their practice as well as the depth of knowledge gained. On behalf of the organising committee, we would like to thank all the participants for their active participation and most importantly our sponsors for making this event possible.
