Post-graduate Research - School of Information Technology
The School is committed to training the next generation of research leaders, and this is done via the Graduate Research programs. There are two (2) Graduate Research programs offered:
Full time-4 years
Part time-8 years
A bachelor’s degree of at least four
years’ full-time study – normally
including a research component in
your fourth year
An equivalent course – as rated by the faculty
A master’s degree that comprises a significant research component.
Minimum equivalent to H2A
Students admitted to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree will have to undergo a confirmation milestone within 10-12 months of EFT candidature.

Monash Graduate Education.
Minimum equivalent to H2B
Students admitted to the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree will have to undergo a confirmation milestone within 8-10 months of EFT candidature.
Research master's students are permitted to apply to transfer to a PhD up to 15 months EFT from the date the student commenced their research master's degree and this is determined during the confirmation milestone presentation which usually takes place within 10-12 months of EFT candidature.

Research interests can be very diverse and hence, you are encouraged to talk to your potential supervisors about possible research topics and explore areas of interest. You may click here to read more on your potential supervisors and their area of expertise.
