Visa application
Step 1: Apply your Student Pass (Visa)
What follows after acceptance would be your student pass application process.
Submit your student pass application as early as 4 months but no later than 2 months of your orientation date. Please note that student pass processing timelines may vary and approval of student pass is at the discretion of the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

You are required to opt for NON-DIRECT STUDENT PASS APPLICATION where Monash will apply for your student pass . Fill out this form to start applying for your student pass. | You are required to opt for DIRECT STUDENT PASS APPLICATION where you have to apply directly to EMGS. Read this guide prior to applying for your student pass. |
It is important for you to apply for your student pass based on your eligibility above. Failure to do so will result in significant delay or rejection of your student pass application.

Step 2: Download your Electronic Visa Approval Letter (eVAL)
Congratulations ! You received an eVAL and another step closer to being on campus.
Download your eVAL here by clicking on the 'Download' button (example image below)
Go through the Entry Guidelines for a comprehensive understanding of the arrival steps and it is unlikely that you will face difficulties with the Immigration officer upon arrival at the airport. International students must arrive in Malaysia by the Friday before Orientation week.
Important: If you do not arrive by the Friday before Orientation Week, you will be required to defer to the next semester. Contact the Admissions Office (mum.admissions@monash.edu)
