The Library pursues its physical transformation
Dear Monash Community,
Following my update on 20 February 2018, I am pleased to share some exciting news about the latest refurbishment project set to take place in the Library.
The renovation work on Level 3 of the Library and Learning Commons will commence on 23 March 2018 and last until 30 April 2018. Upon completion of the project anticipated early May, the Library will offer 100 additional seats in varied configurations:
- 6 new discussion rooms
- Research & Learning Point.
- Increased study space with both individual carrels and study tables.
In order for the external contractor to complete work, Level 3 Service Counter and the purple sofas will be removed by Facilities. Hacking and drilling noise will occur between 23 March and 1st April 2018 after 06.00pm.
During the month of April, some areas on Level 3 may be “off limits” in order to ensure the safety of students. These areas will be barricaded as appropriate.
The self-check machine will remain available on Level 3 for loans. For other library services, you may seek assistance at the Information Services Counter on Level 1.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation while the project is in progress. The new library space will further enhance your study environment and will be ready before the start of the examination period.
