Micro Studio

Micro Studio  Editing Room 

The Micro Studio ( Recording Room and Editing Room)  in the library provides space and equipment to create and edit audio and video content with Camtasia for class projects, interview practice, presentations, and other educational needs.

  • The rooms opening hours are:
    • Monday to Friday 8:00am to 8:00pm
    • Saturday and Sunday 10:00am to 5:00pm
    • Public holiday closed
  • Current MUM students and staff may book the spaces for up to 2 consecutive one hour slots maximum (2 hours total) at one time.
  • The recording and editing rooms are only to be used for recording and editing purposes, not for individual or group study / discussion purposes.
  • Library staff may communicate with you to verify the bookings and will provide access to the room for you once you are here in the library.
  • During your sessions, it is very important to regularly save your work. Library staff will regularly clear recordings or edited works from the computers. You are responsible for saving your work to your devices.
  • Food and drinks are not permitted in the Micro Studio at any time.
  • The library is not responsible for any lost or damaged items belonging to the users.
  • The Library reserves the right to allocate the available rooms / editing PCs to users, or withdraw from the service as needed such as for maintenance purposes and events. Library staff will communicate with you in such circumstances.

Recording Room: 
Small groups of up to three students are welcome to work together on video recording projects. You will have to book the Recording Room. Because the room is small, we ask not to bring in additional furniture and chairs into the space.

The “green screen” technology is to insert background images so always avoid shades of green clothing for recordings as it may display the videos incorrectly. For your own safety, please refrain from moving the "green screen" and use the equipment in the room in a responsible manner.

Editing Room: 
In order to edit your recordings, you may use the adjoining Editing Room with PCs installed with Camtasia. You will have to book the Editing Room PC.

There are three PCs with Camtasia software installed. Each of these can be booked individually for video editing purposes only.
