The library provides a variety of study spaces, access to outstanding resources and services, effective research skills development programs and excellent facilities to Monash students, academics and staff.

Library Collections

Our local collection consists of over 51,000 items including books and audiovisual materials.

In addition, the Monash community can access Monash University Australia Library’s comprehensive electronic collections.

Library Services

Our library units provide core services critical to the achievement of Monash’s education and research strategies.

  • The User Services unit manages library spaces, loan services, facilities and computing equipment.
  • The Academic Resources unit acquires, develops and manages diverse learning resources, promotes electronic resources and supports technological infrastructure and key applications.
  • The Academic Services unit provides consultation services and in the development of research skills.

Facilities

The Library facilities include Wi-Fi, web printing facilities, express terminals, self-check machines and multi-purpose photocopy machines.

While the Quiet Zone fosters individual study and independent learning, other levels of the library provide a variety of spaces for collaborative work, including group discussion rooms.

There is a Micro Studio which provides space and equipment to create audio and video content with Camtasia for different purposes including class projects, interview practice, presentations, and other educational needs. The Editing Room is equipped with three PCs specifically set up for Camtasia video editing. We also have a Reading Spot where fictions are available for students to borrow.  We have a Wellbeing Corner as well at Level 3 where it is cosy and safe, so you can take some time out from studying and relax while visiting the library.
