What is Studiosity?

Studiosity is a service provided by Monash University Malaysia, which can help you to get clarity about an assignment question, decide how to start an assignment, or get same-day feedback on any draft. Studiosity is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

There are two main ways you can get support from Studiosity; here's how they work:

Connect Live: You can type or voice chat with a subject advisor, draw graphs or write equations onto the interactive graph paper or upload a file for discussion. Through Connect Live, you can get help in a wide range of subjects including maths, chemistry, physics, business studies and more. You can also speak to a study coach about essential skills such as study planning, project research, study tips and more.
Writing Feedback: If you are working on an essay or assignment (or any piece of writing) and would like to get feedback on how to improve it, you can upload a draft any time of day or night, and Studiosity will send it back in less than 24 hours with detailed feedback on how you can improve their writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, the advisers won’t give you a straight up answer. They work with you to help them understand the assignment, figure out the problem and unpack their thoughts. They are reminded that evaluation and grading of their work is conducted solely by Monash educators. You should continue to use the consultation hours provided by Monash lecturers and tutors if you have specific questions regarding assessment task expectations and unit content.
No. The study support provided is designed to lead you to discovering solutions yourselves. Studiosity's approach is 'support, not answers'. Studiosity advisors can work with you to review any work you've done and give you advice or feedback on areas that you might need help with.
The Writing Feedback platform provides a review of student work based on the following areas:
- Structure
- Language choice
- Argument/Idea development
- Referencing
- Spelling and grammar issues
Feedback is provided via in-text annotations and related comments, as well as a comprehensive feedback summary. Subject Specialists do not directly edit or change the content of scripts, or add content to improve clarity or understanding. Feedback on spelling and grammar is provided by identification and highlighting of commonly made mistakes that may be systemic to the document, and are highlighted, addressed, and discussed, incorporating examples where appropriate and allowing you to apply these learnings to your document and writing in general. You can, and should, seek support via the Studiosity Connect Live service if they need to discuss an identified aspect of grammar or spelling in detail. Advisors do not provide proofreading services.
All Studiosity Subject Specialists undertake rigorous screening, recruitment, and on-boarding processes. The applicants go through five major stages before being hired as a Subject Specialist. This includes ensuring that they have the right academic qualification working experience. They also sit for assessments and undergo background checks as well as criminal record clearance. Besides that, their responses and interactions are continuously monitored and reviewed so that the subject specialists can give you the best learning experience.
Every unit Moodle site will have a Studiosity activity in or close to the Assessments (under Summary) and Support sections.
