Learning spaces

We provide an extensive range of formal and informal learning spaces to accommodate students’ activities, learning styles and work preferences. They are supported by an IT-rich infrastructure, including networked and WIFI access, computing equipment and printing facilities.

Level 1 : Learning Commons

Learning CommonsThe Learning Commons (Level 1) is a one-stop service point which allows students to check out library materials, access computing and printing facilities, and seek assistance from librarians to locate resources and to start their research.

Level 2 : Quiet Zone

Quiet ZoneThe Quiet Zone located at Level 2 is the Library’s designated floor for quiet study and individual learning. It is monitored by Library staff throughout the day to foster an environment conducive to academic work and research.

Level 3 : Multipurpose learning spaces

Level 3 offers a wide range of multipurpose, informal and collaborative learning spaces, which include:

  • Library Lounge.
  • Collaborative Learning and individual study spaces.
  • Space for working on experiential learning and projects.

Teaching spaces

Library Training RoomThe Library Training Room (7-1-03) located at Level 1 is reserved to conduct workshops and trainings. Outside of scheduled workshops, students are welcome to use the room.

Library seminar roomThe Library Seminar room (7-2-03) located at Level 2, is reserved only to conduct classes and workshops.

Group discussion rooms

Group Discussion RoomA total of 8 discussion rooms are available for group work at Level 3. Each room can accommodate maximum of 6 people and a minimum of 4 people is required to book a discussion room. They can be booked online through LIBCAL.

Student groups may book a room for a maximum of two slots (one hour per slot) or 2 hours only per day. The same group is not allowed to book more slots under another group member’s name.
