About us

Monash University Malaysia Graduate Research Office (MUMGRO) is the central unit for the administration, support and promotion of all aspects of graduate research at Monash University Malaysia. We work in close collaboration with schools, faculties and the Monash Graduate Research Office.

Our vision is to strive for beneficial impact. We are committed to delivering timely and efficient support to all stakeholders, enriching the graduate research journey at Monash University Malaysia, and bolstering the institution's capacity to attract exceptional graduate talent.

MUMGRO’s core functions include:

Administering the graduate student lifecycle at Monash University Malaysia, from initial enquiry to completion.

Supporting graduate student training at Monash University Malaysia by offering innovative professional and research development activities, and working with schools on scheduling of school-specific activities.

Building research capacity by offering supervisor training sessions and advising staff on supervisory eligibility.

Developing strategies in consultation with stakeholders for the enhancement and promotion of our scholarship program to attract top talent and to expand our graduate research student cohort.

Supporting the development of industry partnerships and internships as part of the research degree experience

Ensuring compliance with university and regulatory authority requirements related to graduate research programs.

Maintaining and developing the vibrant graduate research community at MUM by supporting extra-curricular activities and networking opportunities.

Resource planning and promotion to ensure budgetary and campus capacity to meet growth targets.
