Monash University is an inclusive and friendly community in which all stakeholders conduct themselves in an ethical and respectful manner. As a student at Monash University Malaysia you are subject to the rules and regulations that apply to all students at Monash University.

This document provides a clear statement of what students can expect from Monash University and what the University expects of students.

Student Code of Conduct Policy

This policy specifies the standards of conduct and personal behaviour that Monash University expects of students, and identifies the consequences of failure to meet these standards.

Students Complaints Policy

This policy sets out the general principles that guide student complaints management, the stages of the escalation process and the responsibilities of students and staff.

How to Make a Complaint

The university encourages students to first seek resolution to any issues by engaging the person or unit (stage 1 and 2 complaints). If the student remains unsatisfied they  may lodge a formal complaint (stage 3) and the university will ensure the  complaint will be investigated by an independent case officer. Academic Integrity

All students at Monash are expected to uphold the principles of academic integrity.

Ethics Statement

This Ethics Statement details the ethical values and principles that are expected of all staff and students as members of the Monash community. It is comprised of general principles, which guide individuals in their decision-making. The Statement should inspire us, and challenge us to identify, consider, discuss and resolve ethical questions.

Equity, Diversity and Anti-discrimination Policy

The University is committed to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion. It recognises that the University operates within a broader system of social inequality that requires a continuous and evolving understanding of community expectations and needs, informed by lived experiences and academic expertise.

Freedom of Speech and Academic Freedom Policy

The Monash University Act charges Monash University with ‘promoting critical and free enquiry, informed intellectual discourse and public debate within the University and in the wider society’. Monash University values and protects freedom of speech and academic freedom and holds these freedoms as fundamental to the nature of a university. They are defining values for the University.

This policy affirms the importance of the University’s institutional autonomy under law in the regulation of its affairs.

Religious Observance

Monash University is committed to promoting an inclusive environment for all members of its community and supporting the religious observance obligations of its students and staff. This procedure outlines how members of the University community can foster a working and learning environment that supports religious diversity, and articulates how those with religious observance obligations can request reasonable accommodations in their work or study.
