Postgraduate Research Scholarship
Monash University Malaysia offers merit-based scholarships for outstanding postgraduate research students. These scholarships support high-achieving candidates pursuing a Master’s by Research or PhD, either in the form of a tuition fee waiver with stipend or fee-waiver scholarships. Monash University Malaysia (MUM) Graduate Research Scholarship Leave Entitlements
MUM Graduate Research scholarship holders who receive a stipend are paid on a monthly basis.
For scholarship holders receiving a stipend at MUM, some types of leave may be paid, while others may result in a suspension of stipend payments. Please refer to the conditions below for details on the different types of leave.
- PAID ANNUAL LEAVE
- PAID MATERNITY LEAVE
- UNPAID LEAVE OF ABSENCE (INTERMISSION)/ SICK LEAVE/ CARER’S LEAVE/ PARENTAL LEAVE
- UNPAID MATERNITY LEAVE

| Maximum Entitlement - Full time | 60 working days paid within the tenure of the award for the birth of a child. |
| Maximum Entitlement - Part Time (Subject to the Terms & Conditions outlined in the Scholarship Award Letter) | 60 working days within the tenure of the award for the birth of a child paid at the part-time stipend rate. |

| Conditions/ Comments | Paid leave cannot be taken within the first 12 months of the award; Leave should commence no earlier than 6 weeks prior to the expected birth of your child and no later than 6 weeks after the birth of your child. Leave entitlement is in addition to leave of absence and annual leave entitlements. |
