The Campus Community Engagement (CCE) Summer Program offers undergraduate students service learning opportunities with non-governmental organisations (NGO), involved in the provision of clinical, health, environmental, and social care to needy individuals. Through the CCE program, students from various schools will work in multi-disciplinary teams on projects that are beneficial to NGOs. In doing so, students strengthen their graduate and professional capabilities while contributing to positive social change - a mutually beneficial arrangement.
The program provides students an opportunity to gain a unique off-campus learning experience. Students gain exposure to what these organisations do, why they need to do so, and how they serve individuals, families and communities. This community-centred approach will also allow students to experience elements of planning and developing research on issues that matters at the grassroots level.

The next intake, CCE 2025, will begin on 28 November 2025 with a few workshops to prepare students to work in teams and with NGOs. Students will then be placed with NGOs from 1 December 2025 to 6 February 2026

Quick note: You are only expected to cover your own expenses of commuting to and from the NGO centres.
As this is a non-credit bearing unit, you will not receive a grade for your work during the program. However, in order to successfully complete the program, you will undertake a few reflective writing exercises, a group project and a final presentation (an oral and poster) to a symposium of stakeholders. You will work on these tasks together with an appointed academic advisor.
No it is not. This is an extra-curricular program. At the end of the program, students will receive a certificate of participation.
